Ibn ‘Abbas says about the verse, “Remember Allah during the well known days,” that it refers to the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
In this classical treatise, Ibn Rajab (may Allah have mercy on him) discusses the differences between advising and condemning, which is an extremely important topic since it is very common that the two are confused for one another.
It splits the Muslims and causes division in their ranks. They are the most in need of unity and they need to keep away from division, discord and too much gossip amongst themselves, especially when the daa’iyahs who are being slandered are from among the Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah who are well known for their opposition to bid’ah (innovation) and myth, and for standing up against those who promote such things, and for exposing their plots and tricks. We see no benefit to be gained by such actions, except for the enemies who lie in wait for opportunities to harm the Muslims, such as the kaafirs, hypocrites and followers of bid’ah and misguidance.
The Hour will not begin until the land of the Arabs once again becomes meadows and rivers. [Muslim :: Book 5 : Hadith 2208]
All the hearts of the offspring of Aadam are between two fingers of Ar-Rahman’s Fingers, as one heart. He turns it (in any direction) as He wills.
