Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam has been characterised with two tasks: ta’leem (teaching) and tazkiyah (purification).
So, our misfortune lies in the absence of these two matters from our lives, and that he who calls to them, persisting in this and refusing to be pre-occupied from them by anything else, then he is upon the correct manhaj (methodology) and upon the Straight Path.
Islaam is brought together (composed) of these two, (a) the soundness, correctness in aqidah, and (b) the soundness and safety in manhaj. Therefore, one of them cannot be separated from the other.
A beautiful explanation of what “Salafiyyah” actually is, by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him).
Imam Abu Haneefah is the great faqeeh and scholar of Iraq, Abu Haneefah al-Nu’maan ibn Thaabit al-Taymi al-Kufi. He was born in the year 80 AH, during the lifetime of some of the younger Sahaabah and saw Anas ibn Maalik when he came to them in Kufa. He narrated from ‘Ata’ ibn Abi Rabaah, who was his greatest Shaykh, and from al-Shu’bi and many others.
