The innovators are like the scorpion, he buries his head while leaving his tail out, such that when he is able to, he stings
I have not come across any basis supporting the celebration of the birthday of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the Qur’an or the Sunnah. Its celebration was not reported from any Muslim scholars who are the good example to be followed in religious matters and who abided by the practices of their pious predecessors. Rather, it is a Bid`ah introduced by the falsifiers and a desire raised by the gluttonous (i.e. a desire through which greedy people became rich).
Celebrating Mawlid is a Bid’ah introduced by those who came after the best centuries in virtue and righteousness. It is said that the first to introduce this Bid’ah were the rulers of Egypt from al-‘Ubaydiyyun, who were Shiites, as reported by a group of historians.
If you see the innovative mutakallim (a person indulging in rhetorical speech) saying: ‘Leave out the Qur’aan and Sunnah and bring forth Logic’, then know that he is Aboo Jahl.
Weak Hadeeth – Fasting a day is like fasting a year and Praying Tahajjud is like praying on Laylatul Qadr
This is a weak hadeeth.
Fasting any day during it is equivalent to fasting one year and to offer salatul tahajjud (late-night prayer) during one of its nights is like performing the late night prayer on the night of power. [i.e., Laylatul Qadr]
Innovations have spread so much that it is looked upon as being a Sunnah, and when a person from true Ahlus Sunnah talks about some authentic sunnah then he is looked upon as if he is the one introducing new matters in the religion.
